Black screen, system won't boot?

My Windows just froze on me, and after a hard reset, now it won't even boot properly. The PC turns on, runs for about five seconds, shuts itself off, then restarts and stays on, but the screen stays totally black. No BIOS, no error messages, nothing. Just blackness.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far: I checked the monitor. When I unplug the cable, it shows "no signal" and displays the Dell logo, so the screen works fine.

- I have three drives: an SSD running Windows 10 and two HDDs for storage. I tried booting with just the SSD—nothing. Then I disconnected the SSD to see if I'd at least get into the BIOS using an HDD—still nothing.

- I've already reseated the GPU, the drives, and the RAM.

Anyone have any clue what's going on? The rig is only about six months old and runs Windows 10.

Maybe try resetting your BIOS settings back to the factory defaults. Just shut the PC down, unplug it from the wall, and pop the CMOS battery out for about ten minutes. Put the battery back in, plug it back in, and see if that does the trick.

Tried everything, nothing works. When I power it up, the monitor just says "no signal." I even tried plugging the monitor cable directly into the motherboard instead of the GPU, but still nothing.

Unplug all your drives first and see if you can actually get any kind of POST message from the motherboard.
If that works, try booting up from a USB drive instead, maybe using Linux or something like Hiren’s..

Did you check the motherboard
? I had an 88mph issue once and the guys at the repair shop told me it was a faulty motherboard.
