So basically my blood pressure is usually around 55-65 over 100-110

This morning I woke up and reached for my phone which was sitting on the floor by my bed, and as soon as I tried to grab it, everything just went spinning and I ended up flopping right back onto the mattress.

I barely made it over to my parents' place and my dad took my pressure for me...

It was 58/136

Now, every little thing just hits me out of nowhere—like, even a tiny breeze feels like a punch from a 75 miles/h gust and suddenly my stomach is practically in my throat.

Why did it go totally haywire like this?
Is there any way to bring that top number down without messing with the bottom one?

If things settle down by tomorrow morning, should I just ignore the whole doctor thing, or am I being reckless by not taking this seriously?

thx

You should probably get your blood work checked out... maybe you're running low on something?
I've had similar episodes myself, though it usually happens when the heat is absolutely brutal outside.

It is what it is...
I never actually figured out why I passed out out of nowhere a couple of times.
Oh, right... a glucose shot always brought me right back to life, every single time.

I'll just say the magic word: protection!

The root cause of the insomnia, the anxiety, and frankly, everything else wrong with this country.

Some babies just deal with this kind of pressure from day one.

The thyroid is the root of all insomnia, anxiety, and basically everything else.

Honestly? I’d say the thyroid issues are just a symptom.

I went through every single one of those struggles myself until someone finally gave me some real talk about my thyroid and what was actually going on. Speaking from experience here!
I took her advice because I was out of options. I didn't even need medication for my thyroid, but once I shifted my mindset, everything else started falling into place. But man, changing your perspective? That was the hardest part!

My blood pressure is still low, but turns out—that was the least of my worries.

Yesterday was absolutely brutal in Washington, D.C., and the ER was slammed. It makes me wonder... since brisknomad6 hasn't said a word since that last post... ufff 😢

Thank God! We were typing at the exact same time. Is that telepathy or what? 🙂

thanks for checking in on me 🙂

I'm doing okay, I guess... just getting tired super easily and I really can't move my head much (which, honestly, is kind of hard lol) 😁

RD2D definitely has a way better range of motion than I do right now 😁

just waiting on my test results 🙂

I’ve dealt with low blood pressure my entire life.
Over the last decade, I’ve actually fainted three times.
Twice, it happened in crowded,
smoky environments—and I was a smoker back then.
I quit cigarettes two months ago (it happened suddenly after
a major life turning point), and they are definitely bad for you when
your blood pressure is acting up like this.
I suspect it's hereditary; you just have to understand your own body
and know how to manage those moments.
When I feel dizzy, I sit down immediately. Ideally, one should lie down
and elevate the legs.
Make sure to eat breakfast; complex carbohydrates from
grains are usually best since they aren't "quick" sugars.
If you feel lightheaded, a little red wine with
a spoonful of sugar can help (that was my grandmother's old remedy).

Someone mentioned the thyroid—it’s possible hormone levels
are slightly off, though a doctor might not flag it
if the numbers still fall within the standard clinical range.
