Look, I don't have some deep-seated insecurity about being hairy or whatever, but I really want to thicken things up a bit. It drives me crazy that one part of my legs is covered in hair while my thighs are totally bare, and my chest and armpits are just... smooth.
I'm 20 years old, so if there was ever going to be any growth, it should have happened by now. That's how it looks for everyone else my age, too.

So, I'm just wondering—is there actually a product out there? Like, pills that help with body hair, or is there some old wives' tale about shaving making it thicker?

Genetics plays a huge role when it comes to body hair. If your old man isn't exactly hairy, don't expect much more from your own DNA 😉. As far as leg hair goes, what you're seeing is totally normal. Plus, most guys don't even hit their full growth until they're around 21 😉
. It really just boils down to how much testosterone you've got running through your system.
So, what's the deal with your facial hair? Do you shave or just let it ride?
A total lack of body hair which doesn't sound like your situation combined with small testicles could point toward a hormonal imbalance, but if you're actually worried about that, you'd need to go see an endocrinologist or an internist at a place like the Mayo Clinic.

I need some help here.

My testicles are totally fine.

The weird part is my facial hair—mustache and beard are growing just fine.
I shave regularly; I mean, it’s not a full thicket on my cheeks yet, but I’m hitting it twice a week.
Face looks okay enough.

But why is it that the hair near my groin area is completely bald, even though everything from my knees down is fine?
It’s a goal of mine to get that "linea nigra" look running up toward my belly button—you know, that "happy trail."😬

So, how do I actually force my body to crank up the testosterone production?
I'm asking for a few different reasons, mostly regarding building muscle mass and stuff like that.

I've got normal testicles.

So, I’m a bit confused—my mustache and beard look fine.
I shave regularly; sure, it's not thick coverage on my cheeks yet, but I hit it twice a week.
My face looks okay.

Why is it that the hair near my groin is totally non-existent, while everything from my knees down is fine?
I'm really aiming to get that "linea alba" look going down to my belly button (that "Ab Crack" aesthetic😬).

Also, how can I push my body to crank up testosterone production?

Don't sweat it, you'll probably start seeing growth by the time you hit 30.👍

Look, I’m not even particularly interested in the details, but I am curious, you know?😎
