This is where everything goes south.
The whole white trash crew finally realizes what’s actually happening. First, he's forced to strip in front of everyone, revealing she's a girl.
Then those two assault her—multiple times, if you ask me—and after all that, they just brush it off at home like nothing happened, saying, "Come on, buddy, it'll be just like before. No harm done."
There’s a bit of a chase through the woods, and Lana... well, she loves him regardless of it all.

In the end, John kills Brandon, Tina, and Candace.

John is awaiting his execution date, though he did file an appeal...
The other guy testified against John and is looking at life in prison.

Lana had moved away to Memphis, but she came back once she had the baby.

I forgot to mention that they beat him up a few times...

So, is this basically a lesbian movie?

I just couldn't bring myself to watch it... 🙄 the subject matter is just so devastating—it’s one of those things where once you realize it's actually based on a true story, it hits you differently... 😢

The first two-thirds of this movie were actually great, but then the director—I can't even remember who it was—completely loses the plot. The final third turns into this pathetic, pretentious, melodramatic mess. I’m guessing they had good intentions, but honestly, that doesn't save it. Such a shame.
Unless, of course, the director's goal was to make the audience feel the full weight of that trauma by essentially assaulting our brains. If that was the case, then I take back everything I said.😁

Ugh... it was a great movie... truly great... I remember catching it in theaters back in the day, but honestly? I don't think I could ever sit through it again... 😢
Ugh... absolutely not...
It falls right into that category of "one-and-done" films for me—the kind you watch once, experience fully, and then leave in the past forever...

That was an incredibly heavy film. 😢

It’s a female director.

It's been ages since I watched it—really quite a while—but if my memory serves me right, I think we're on the same page.

Anyway, there are definitely some strong scenes—it has its moments—but it isn't nearly as good as everyone makes it out to be.

And Hillary was just fantastic... hats off to her. 🙏🙏

Ugh... honestly, I could only stomach the highlights. I ended up turning it off about two-thirds of the way through because I already knew exactly what was coming. 😢I remember crying my eyes out when I first saw it, but I was much younger back then. Maybe I could handle it now. Still...
The real question is: who actually wants to dive into the full story?

I find it pretty wild how this guy, once he finally kills her, keeps firing shots and even goes out of his way to stab her with a knife.
It’s like she was such a threat to his masculinity being a lesbian.
Just fascinating stuff.
