Hey, if this topic’s already been covered somewhere else, my bad... I can never seem to keep track of everything on these forums. I know this might come across a bit clunky or even kind of silly, but I’d really appreciate it if you guys could help me out here... thanks in advance. So, basically, what does it actually feel like when you break your nose? Like, what's the vibe, the sensation, all that? From a minor hit I took, it hurts whenever I press on the tip of my nose or the cartilage, but there's no bruising or anything looking weird visually... though I'm wondering if it's possible to have a minor fracture that isn't "obvious," you know, without the whole bloody mess or constant throbbing... and does anyone have a clue what else this could be besides a break, just some harmless aftermath from an impact? And yeah, full disclosure, I'm a total hypochondriac, so I tend to spiral over stuff I probably shouldn't, but I figured I'd ask just in case... thanks a ton, and please don't roast me for posting this, seriously, the hypochondria is real🙂

Hello everyone, I am looking for some advice or perhaps your personal experiences regarding a situation.

On Sunday morning, I lost consciousness and ended up hitting my face on the bathroom floor.
I tore my upper lip and misaligned two of my front teeth, and I am unsure if I fractured my nose. My father found me with a bloody nose and took me straight to the ER. They told me the lip didn't need stitches and mentioned something about low blood pressure... when the nurse checked my nose, it didn't seem to hurt much at first. However, about twenty minutes later, the pain became intense, especially in the upper area, and everything began to swell.
The swelling has subsided now, but my nose still hurts whenever I touch it... and there is a clicking sensation when I move it... haha.

What should my next steps be?

And if you don't mind me asking, what caused you to pass out, if it isn't too personal?

It was due to low blood pressure... I've had this happen before, though usually I just feel lightheaded and grab onto something or sit down... This time it was a total blackout, I remember getting out of bed and then suddenly my dad was lifting me up off the bathroom floor

If it’s making that clicking sound, it’s probably busted.

Honestly, you should just head to the doctor and get an X-ray or something? It’s definitely not too late to get it fixed if you catch it now.

And yeah, I feel for you. You really ought to take that fainting spell a bit more seriously.

Just left my appointment with the doctor... news is somewhat mixed...
The nose seems alright, maybe a little bruised but not broken (I'll manage), but I did get three referrals for follow-ups (cardiologist, neurologist, and full bloodwork and labs)
She mentioned some kind of loss of consciousness... and said what they told me in the ER didn't make any sense at all regarding the low blood pressure...

Yeah, I’d say the cardiologist and the neurologist are the heavy hitters here. Hang in there.
