My grandmother (she's 86) had a nasty fall a few days ago and ended up fracturing her pubic bone—specifically a fracture of the superior and inferior pubic rami on the left side.
The current plan is strictly bed rest.
Her doctor mentioned that with enough downtime, it should basically knit itself back together in about 15 to 20 days.
I’m trying to figure out if "rest" means she absolutely cannot move, or if it's okay for her to sit up occasionally and maybe use a walker to make a slow trek to the bathroom? Honestly, I have my doubts about the latter since she's dealing with some pretty intense pain right now.
If anyone here has dealt with something similar or has any insight, I’d really appreciate the help.
