Hey there!

Lately, I've been getting this annoying error where my screen just goes totally blue and my laptop (Dell Latitude running Windows 7 Professional) force-restarts itself. It happened again yesterday, but this time it's stuck in a loop—it boots up, the screen turns blue, and boom, back to square one. I managed to get it into Safe Mode, but now I'm staring at this error: NETIO.SYS PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

Any idea how to fix this? ☕

Thanks in advance, everyone!!!

I’d suggest downloading and running MemTest86+ to test your RAM, just let it run for a little while to be sure, because if it flags an error, then you know you've got a faulty stick or a bad module somewhere, but if everything comes back clean, you might want to try running chkdsk instead https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/.../ee872425.aspx

I can't believe people are still tripping over this. Just read the thread—it’s the same old nonsense. Check out the link if you actually want to understand what's going on.

Tried that second one too—nothing. Total bust. As for the first program, I grabbed both the ISO and the USB versions, but when I boot from the USB, it only gives me the option to check the F drive. It doesn't even show the memory test like it does in those YouTube videos! Do I seriously have to burn the ISO to a disc first just to get it to work?

Do I need to put the ISO version on a CD first?

Honestly, the easiest way to get things moving is just to make a bootable USB stick with MemTest86+:

Create a bootable USB Flash drive:

Download the MemTest86+ USB image.
Right click on the downloaded file and select the "Extract here option". This puts the USB image and the imaging tool right in your current folder.
Run the included imageUSB tool—it should have the image file already selected, so you really just need to pick which USB drive you want to turn into a bootable one. Just a heads-up, this will wipe everything currently on that drive.

Once that's done, you'll just need to restart your computer and boot directly from that USB stick, meaning you don't want Windows to start up, but rather go straight into MemTest86+, which will then run its course and check your RAM.

Alright, so I ran it and found zero issues 😢

Tried kicking it out of Safe Mode to boot up normally, but after about a minute, boom—Blue Screen of Death right in my face...

(The photo's kind of crappy since I snapped it super fast 🙂 )

Okay, so I found and downloaded this app that tells you "who crashed," and it spit this out:

Crash Dump Analysis

Crash dump directory: C:\Windows\Minidump

Crash dumps are enabled on your computer.

The crash took place in a standard Microsoft module. Your system configuration may be incorrect. Possibly this problem is caused by another driver on your system that cannot be identified at this time.

Updated my Intel drivers and still getting the same crap 😢

What else should I try? Honestly, looking back, I think it’s an internet thing because it keeps happening while I'm browsing, not when I'm just checking photos or messing around in Word...

It honestly feels like that network driver is what's causing all the trouble, so I was thinking it might be best to just wipe the old one out entirely and install a fresh version, though maybe we should actually try running things without any driver at all first to see if the crashing stops, and you can probably find a newer version on the manufacturer's website

The network card driver probably has a bug. You should probably check which exact network card you have—like the specific chip—and find the 64-bit driver for that chip that matches your version of Windows. Then just uninstall the old driver and install the new one.

Fixed! My laptop finally works without needing Safe Mode!!! Thanks 🙏 🙏 👍

The only thing I've noticed now is that my PC feels kinda sluggish when I'm online. Like, if I type something in the search bar and hit enter, it takes like half a minute before it even starts searching. Then the next one goes through instantly, but by the third or fourth command, it slows right back down. 😵 Is there anything else I might need to "fix"? I downloaded a temp checker and everything looks totally fine. 🙂

The only little thing I've noticed since then is that the computer seems to be lagging just a tiny bit when I'm doing stuff online. For example, if I type something into the search bar and hit enter, it takes about thirty seconds before it actually starts searching, though once it gets going, the next few searches happen instantly before it slows down again 😵 is there anything else you think I might need to "tweak" to get it smooth? I downloaded a tool to check the temperatures and everything looks totally normal 🙂

hmm maybe try clearing out your browser cache and cookies first, and then try testing things out with a couple of different browsers—like running Firefox and Chrome side-by-side—just to see if the lag is isolated to one specific browser or if the whole system is acting a bit funky
