Hey everyone, hope you're all doing great! I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me out with a little project. If it isn't too much trouble, I'm looking to put together a solid gaming rig with a budget of around $700 at http://www.bestbuy.com/. My goal is really just to get the absolute best bang for my buck—basically, what’s the most powerful setup I can squeeze out of that amount? Thanks so much in advance for any advice you can throw my way! 🙏

Buying anything over the next 30 days—especially while we're waiting on the next generation of GPUs to actually hit the shelves—is just a waste of money... unless you're literally in a life-or-death situation, then go ahead and pull the trigger ☕

My bad, I completely missed that it was the tray version. Thanks, crimsonstag84.

It seems like anyone eyeing an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, an AMD Radeon R9 380 (especially those 4GB models), or even a 380X would be just as smart to hold off. That goes for the high-end crowd looking at the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 or Fury cards too... It’s probably not that the new stuff will be faster than what’s out now, but rather that the new cards will absolutely crush the current ones in terms of pure value and price-to-performance ratio.

The folks over at PC Gamer are making the exact same point.

Especially if we see another mid-range Polaris 10 card coming out that's even cheaper than the 480. If that happens, it'll definitely land right in the same price bracket as the AMD Radeon R9 380.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, everyone. crimsonstag84, I noticed that the case you recommended doesn't actually have any USB 3.0 ports, which is a bit of a dealbreaker for me, so I think I'll go with the Corsair Carbide Series ATX instead. That way, I can pull everything together into this final build

So, I guess I'll just sit tight and wait for further updates then? Sounds like a plan, thanks for letting me know!

Honestly, you’d be better off just sitting tight until the end of the month...😉
