Hey there! I've got a quick question for you guys. I stumbled upon this really cheap computer that’s basically just an office machine. It got me wondering—what's actually the real difference between a standard office PC and what most people would call a "normal" desktop? Here's what we're looking at: a 3.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core i7, an ATI Radeon 4550 with 767 MB, and 2 GB of RAM. Now, look, I’m not out here hunting for some hardcore gaming rig or anything. I just need something that can handle a newer version of PES and maybe a few other light games that aren't super demanding... But mostly, I just want to know if there's any actual functional difference between an office PC with these specs and a regular desktop with the exact same specs, or is it all just about how the case looks?
Thanks in advance for the help! 😁 😁 😁

That Intel Core i7 is basically a trash can. It’s ancient history. Run the other way.

What would be a smart move here? I'm looking for something that actually performs well without having to drop a massive amount of cash on it.

Look, you've got a few posts down there featuring office PCs or cheap internet machines. We're talking numbers starting around $467 and climbing if you want decent new components. Basically, you're looking at an AMD Athlon processor, some budget motherboard, a 500GB hard drive, a basic case and power supply, plus 4GB of DDR3 RAM... that's the baseline. From there, just grab whatever graphics card fits your budget. You can skip the GPU entirely, but don't expect to play much of anything... Just keep in mind this is a modern office machine. That old system with the Intel Core i7 is basically a relic... you can barely even browse the web properly with it

I'm not really an expert on used gaming rigs from Craigslist or anything, but I honestly don't think you can build anything worthwhile for gaming if you're under $800-$333... unless someone wants to correct me if I'm wrong

First things first—what kind of budget are we looking at?
