I’ve been out of the loop for a long, long timeβ€”so I’m hoping some of you experts can point me in the right direction. πŸ™‚
Basically, I just need a machine for standard office stuff, some basic 2D CAD work, and maybe watching a stream or two without everything lagging out; I’ll probably stick with Windows 7 or one of those Linux distros.
Nothing fancy required. I don't need any peripherals or an optical drive. Just something that leaves room for future upgrades down the road. Let's say 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB HDD.
Budget: $600 cash.
I’d prefer an AMD setup from somewhere in Washington, D.C.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Anyway, thanks to everyone else who didn't make this whole decision process an absolute nightmare. πŸ€”

Thanks to everyone else who didn't make choosing a side such a nightmare. πŸ€”

That's pretty much the ceiling for what you can get out of it. No point lying and saying this setup is anything more.

Your rig should run like an absolute dream on Ubuntuβ€”I’ve got a setup that’s almost identical to yours! πŸ™‚
