So, I was wondering—is there any way to actually change a user ID (the one that gets auto-generated when you sign up)? If it's possible, what kind of price tag would we be looking at? And would the site admins even consider selling user IDs as a premium feature? Or maybe even renting them out for a set amount of time? You could call it a "vanity user ID" service or something—who knows!

I’m super interested in buying or renting this specific number: http://www.example-forum.com/member.php?u=1337. It looks like it's wide open, since the site throws an error whenever I try to click the link. 🤷

Thanks a ton!

Can I ask a quick question? Sorry if this is off-topic (since it’s not directly answering the main thread), but I am genuinely curious. I've seen people on several different forums mentioning they want to buy or rent out user IDs, and I honestly cannot wrap my head around the WHY. Like, I am seriously losing sleep wondering about the motivation here 😁 I mean, fine, if someone wants to buy a specific "OG" handle, I get that, but why would anyone want some totally random account? I really need someone to explain the logic to me 🙂

I mean, honestly... what difference does it actually make if it's number 10000 or 10349? I don't really get the point, and besides, there's no reason anyone would need to memorize those anyway...

I honestly don't get why people shell out extra cash just to pick their own license plates. It’s the exact same piece of metal...

Besides, Brian Edwards78 wasn't just grabbing some random, meaningless number—if you have no clue what 1337 actually means, Google is your friend. 😬
