Can I ship electronics through the mail?

I need to ship a smartphone from Italy over here to the States, and I’m wondering if it’s even possible to just use the postal service... does anyone know what the damage would be if it's an option? Everyone keeps telling me that you can't send electronics through the mail, so I'm feeling a bit stuck... thanks 😁

Just ask at the customs office under the administration wing
