How do you all deal with those people who constantly shadow your presence on the forums, trying to chip away at your authority, undermine your credibility, or just outright mock you?

I can certainly wrap my head around someone posting a topic that’s either totally incomprehensible or something we've already seen a hundred times—it’s natural that you'd get a wide variety of responses in those cases. But when someone follows your every move, replying to every single thing you say without you ever acknowledging them? Does that person honestly believe they're being helpful, or do they just fail to realize how desperate they look?

You can toss just about anyone on here onto your ignore list if they're getting on your nerves.

If someone is actually stalking you through the threads just to mock you, you should probably report it since that kind of harassment isn't allowed... there's a little red triangle icon at the bottom left of every post that you can click to file a report, and then the mods will step in to see if someone is genuinely harassing you and take action against them if they are.

It’s much like how you might block a pesky telemarketer; if someone is truly following your every move through the threads just to mock you, that crosses the line into harassment, which is strictly against our community guidelines. If that happens, you can report it immediately. Just look for the small red triangle icon at the bottom left of any post—click that to file a report. From there, the moderators will step in to review the situation and take appropriate action against anyone engaging in that kind of targeted bullying.

Thanks for the tip. I really need to track down that setting since I can't seem to find it anywhere on my screen.
I’m certainly not complaining; I just find it’s often much smoother to prevent a headache before it even starts rather than dealing with the frustration later on.
