Can't access old threads

Why am I unable to access an older thread once a follow-up version gets posted?

Even though the new thread includes a direct link back to the original discussion, I keep getting hit with error messages saying I don't have the necessary permissions or some other technical restriction to view it.

Hey, could you drop a link to the specific thread where this is happening, and maybe also point me toward the thread where the link itself is actually sitting?

Just so you know, the threads linked above are currently being cleaned up. We ran into some major issues with Google lately, so we had to temporarily pull several large, locked threads while we go through them all. Since there’s quite a mountain of work ahead of us, it might take a little while, but most of them will be back up soon. As for these specific ones, I'm pretty sure they'll all be restored.

So, how long are we talking here?
A month? A couple of months? An entire year...?

I’m really hoping it won't take more than a few weeks, though I can't give you a pinpoint date since there are just so many moving parts involved.
