Does anyone know what to do with an older PC setup using two video outputs plus S-Video?
(A lot of people suggested S-Video, so I went ahead and bought the cable.) I’ve hooked up my TV to the PC, but now I need some help. How do I actually set the resolution? I can't seem to get this "smart" graphics card to cooperate. All it does is recognize the TV in the display settings, but under option 1, I can't even select it. When I somehow manage to select it under option 2, nothing shows up on the screen. Even though I switched the TV to PC mode, it just keeps saying "No Signal" via PC.

If anyone knows the fix, please share it here—it might help someone else facing the same issue.

Otherwise, here are a few things you should keep in mind:

- I'm not sure if your graphics card even has a standard 4-pin S-Video port that plugs directly into a TV. Usually, cards have multi-pin outputs, so you’ll need an adapter like this: or maybe something like this:

Only then can you plug in your 4-pin S-Video cable.

Also, don't bother with a prehistoric graphics card. It needs to support DirectX 9.0c, otherwise, you're just wasting your time—it won't work.

On your PC, go into the video properties and set it to "clone display" just to get things moving; that way, the image shows up on both the monitor and the TV. If you're using AMD Catalyst or similar software, try setting the TV as your secondary display there. Sometimes it won't kick in until you reboot the machine.

Anyway, give that a shot first...

I have these ports on my graphics card ( but my TV doesn't feature a direct S-video input. Instead, I'm using an RCA adapter (http://i39.tinypic.com/2ugynep.jpg). To be honest, the hardware isn't even the main issue—it's the PC settings, specifically figuring out the right resolution and configuration.

The cable itself just has a single connector at each end.

I managed to sort out the picture issue, but now I've run into a new headache: there's no color on the TV, even though my computer monitor looks fine. It’s driving me insane.

If anyone knows how to fix this, please get back to me ASAP.
