I've been prescribed these pills... has anyone here actually tried them? How did they work for you, or is there something better out there?

Honestly, I'm on the fence about even starting them. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on pill therapy, and frankly, I'm right there with them.

Help me out! 😕

Why bother? Just find some other way to deal with the depression.

If you’re struggling with depression:

5-HTP—that's 5-Hydroxytryptophan—is basically a precursor to serotonin...
Which means your body uses it to synthesize serotonin directly...
And if you've got enough serotonin flowing, you're going to feel a whole lot better!

Just head over to www.google.com
Search for "5-HTP" and find a site where you can order some... You won't find this stuff easily here in the States...

Some experts claim you can even measure it through a window test, but I honestly doubt that... All I know is that it really helped me.......

I’ve been taking those pills along with some Advil than I can tell you, and they really seem to be doing the trick for me. I suppose, if anything, they don't even leave you feeling dependent on them, which is a relief.

They truly helped me. They gave me back my focus, my calm, and a clear head—which was the only way I could actually start tackling the circumstances that put me in such an anxious state in the first place.
When I eventually tapered off, I didn't deal with any side effects at all.
I genuinely recommend them, even though I usually have a massive fear of taking pills.

boldnomad45 and Jerry Newman6—how long did it actually take before you started feeling a difference? I’m curious about the timeline: how long have you been on medication, and at what point did you feel stable enough to finally step away from therapy altogether?

As for me, I’ve been on Coaxil for about a month now, and honestly, I’m satisfied so far... there’s a noticeable improvement—it’s a slow burn, mind you, but the progress is definitely there.

Hey everyone, I’m 17 and I’ve been struggling with drug use, so I’ve started seeing a psychiatrist to help me get clean. It’s been a wild ride—everything from candy and MDMA to amphetamines and various antidepressants (like Ativan, Valium, and others). At first, they put me on 5 mg of diazepam, 1 mg of Risperdal, and 100 mg of Zoloft... but man, that combo just didn't work for me. I felt totally drugged out all day long, probably because of the diazepam. My doctor eventually switched things up. Now I'm taking 12.5 mg of Coaxil twice a day, 3 mg of Lexapro once or maybe twice a day, and 2 mg of Risperdal every night. Honestly? I think this new routine is actually working. I’ve been on it for over a month now, and I’ve been totally sober during that whole time. I haven't touched weed or anything else. I guess I was wondering if Lexapro or Coaxil can be addictive? Also, since my parents are away at work a lot, I'm usually the one heading to all these appointments by myself. My psychiatrist isn't great at explaining exactly what each pill does or how long it takes to kick in, so I'm feeling a bit lost. If anyone has some insight or advice, I’d really appreciate it! 🙂
