So, they’ve gone and merged these threads on the Lies forum—topics that have absolutely nothing to do with one another.
1. Discrimination against gay men
2. Lesbian sex
These used to be separate discussions, but now that they're lumped together, some guy complaining about discrimination is going to end up quoting stuff about lesbian sex and beatings...
Really brilliant logic there.

If those two threads were messy enough to be merged, then the mod clearly dropped the ball. If they got combined because people were posting graphic stuff—you know, sexual content and fighting—then one of those threads was already way too off-topic. And of course, the second I spoke up against it, the mod flagged my post as off-topic and nuked it instantly.

Well, I figured I should weigh in since I was the one who merged those three threads together—the poll regarding the LGBTQ+ community, the discussion on discrimination, and the one about lesbians.
I’ll admit, combining the lesbian thread might not have been the most brilliant move; honestly, it probably should have been archived ages ago since it wasn't serving much of a purpose, but once it drifted onto page two, I decided to bundle it up.

When you're dealing with topics this broad, they really ought to live under one roof. It doesn't make much sense to constantly spin off new, separate threads just to tackle the exact same set of issues over and over again.
Now, if a topic is deeply personal, then sure, it deserves its own space. Those kinds of discussions are usually looking for specific advice or a bit of support.

I don't see any harm in attaching that thread containing a few individual lesbian experiences to these other two.

The Lies PDF is intended for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation. However, because the challenges faced by the gay community are somewhat distinct, they deserve their own dedicated space to discuss lived experiences, systemic hurdles, discrimination, and things of that nature. And the Democratic Party provides that space here.

If those threads turned into nothing more than a chaotic mess of graphic descriptions and off-topic nonsense, then one of them was obviously spiraling out of control. And of course, the second I dared to speak up against it, the moderator slapped an "off-topic" label on my post and nuked it before I could even blink.

Actually, I deleted your rebellious little post, then cleared it from the thread, and finally sent you a DM explaining that we have a specific PDF protocol for handling complaints and feedback.

That’s really all there is to it.

Just because gay men have one single thread on Lies where everything gets dumped—and I don't just mean the lesbian sex stuff—doesn't mean we actually gained any space. If anything, it feels more like being sidelined.
You admitted yourself how specific and complex the topic is, and since you're part of the community, you know this deserves its own subforum. It seems perfectly reasonable that when someone joins Lies, there’d be a dedicated section for the gay population. Sure, there are other sites and forums out there, but that shouldn't stop us from having our own space here. Look at any major site—they have subforums for law, psychology, even landscaping—so why not here?
The standard for starting a subforum should really just be the importance of the subject and user interest. Since the gay community makes up about 5-10% of the population and faces a lot of specific struggles, there should be a subforum for them.
I actually think it would make sense to have an entire standalone forum for the gay community—you know, a full forum rather than just a subforum, similar to how sites have sections for politics or cars. Because if we just get a subforum on Lies, it won't really be the right place to talk about activism or discrimination, given that Lies is primarily a sex forum...
Anyway, that's just my take—seems logical enough to me.

I mean, if we can have subforums for things like cheesy TV soaps, cycling, or Star Trek...
then there really should be one for the gay community too.

We’ve already gone over the idea of starting a dedicated LGBTQ+ subforum several times, and it’s been shot down every single time under the guise of preventing "ghettoization"—which, if I’m being honest, is a fair point.
Anyone in the community is more than welcome to start a thread here regarding any specific issues they’re facing with dating, intimacy, or relationships.

I don't think it’s actually a great move to have a standalone section just for that demographic. If people feel the need to segregate their discussions into a niche corner, they’ll eventually just stop posting on the main site altogether. It creates a silo where they only talk to themselves.

For instance, if I wanted to vent about some drama I'm having with my girlfriend, I’d come here to the main boards, not to some specialized lifestyle site. That’s the whole point of a general forum.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on the matter. I'll leave the final call to the admins.

So what’s the deal with that thread about beating up gays over Lies?

Look, nobody's out there throwing punches because they're in love or watching some smutty video...

That stuff belongs in a different conversation—maybe dive into psychology or just leave it to politics😍
