Can someone please point me in the right direction if they know where I can find data on how skin breakouts correlate with different parts of the body? Like, does the location actually signal that something internal is going sideways?

I’ve heard theories floating around that things like seborrheic dermatitis—you know, that stuff around the nose, mouth, or eyebrows—could be a red flag for stomach issues. And then there's the idea that breakouts along the chin, jawline, or neck (specifically in women) might point toward ovarian issues.

Does anyone actually know more about this?

So, I used to have this whole issue where my neck—right under my ear, actually—was just absolutely covered in these tiny, stubborn breakouts

But once they finally got that tumor removed, everything just kind of cleared up on its own... I mean, it took a few months for my hormones to finally settle back down, but yeah, it all went away

I’ve heard from a few people that breakouts on the chin are actually pretty common during pregnancy—it’s usually just those hormones going absolutely haywire.

I haven't really experienced that myself, though—I don't have any firsthand data to report! But, if I can pivot slightly—even if it's not quite the main topic—I have noticed that my own breakouts tend to pop up in the exact same spots. It's like once one clears up after a few weeks or months, a brand new one just decides to take its place right there.

Lately, I’ve been dealing with these random, stupid breakouts right around my temples—red, angry, and seriously painful. It’s totally out of character for me, and honestly, I know there’s gotta be some connection between those spots and what's going on inside my body. I’m planning to hit up my dermatologist in a few days, but I figured I’d check if anyone here has dealt with this before.

Same here!!
But they're only on the left side of my forehead—super deep and painful, and when I try to pop them, nothing happens except some clear fluid oozing out.
Do you happen to have a good dermatologist you’d recommend?

I've been seeing Dr. Miller for years (I'll DM you the info), and I also saw Dr. Sarah Jenkins once (also via DM), and honestly, both are amazing. Dr. Miller is basically my go-to—I love that she actually digs for the root cause before she starts throwing prescriptions at you. I go to her for everything, even facials, but now I'm kind of hesitant to bring up how much I've been playing around with different skincare brands lately... I don't want her judging my life choices. Though, I'm pretty much certain now that these breakouts are an "inside" issue because they stay the same regardless of what products I use—and I've given everything plenty of time to work before blaming the stuff in my cabinet.

p.s. Some of mine are basically squeezeable, but others are just like yours—bright red, hurting like hell, and there is zero point in touching them. Even using acne cream does nothing; if anything, it makes them look even bigger and more inflamed.

Anyway, I'm gonna suck it up and make an appointment with the doc in a few days.

Anyone know how to actually kill these stupid blackheads?? Please don't just suggest random drugstore junk—unless it's stuff that actually works!!!! I'm a guy, too.

Either grab some Avene Diacenal or just brew yourself some marshmallow root tea—let it cool down completely and use that as a toner. Then, follow up by applying a dexamethasone-neomycin cream (but seriously, don't use that stuff for more than 3 or 4 days).

Just pure jojoba oil—nothing else. Wash up in the morning and at night, apply the oil, and you’ll start seeing results within just a few days. I actually followed some advice from a girl on this forum and it truly works—it's wild, because I’ve tried absolutely everything else under the sun and nothing worked, yet this jojoba oil did the trick in a matter of days. Give it a shot.

Sage has been my absolute savior. I make it a ritual twice a day: brew a strong tea, use it to steam my face, and then apply it as a toner. It acts as such an incredible antiseptic; it actually managed to calm down even those massive, stubborn breakouts that just refused to heal.
In the long run, I noticed my skin finally cleared up once I drastically cut back on meat consumption. Often, if the liver is struggling to process heavy fats, the sebaceous glands react accordingly, leading to acne flare-ups. (Of course, that is merely one potential factor in the equation.)

I’m totally with Sandra Kern73 on this one—that Primavera jojoba oil is absolute magic. For me, things start looking up within just two days of using it. I didn't even deal with that heavy flow before my period started, which is honestly a miracle because, for most American women, that's pretty much a guarantee you have to deal with every single month.

So, here's the deal—I actually stopped taking my Diane tablets about a month ago because they were totally messing with me, mostly giving me high blood pressure. But lately, I've been noticing these tiny little red breakouts popping up on the right side of my face. I was wondering, could this be some sort of lingering reaction to the medication, or am I just dealing with my PCOS flaring up again?

🤷 Honestly, I don't think having acne is such a huge deal—it’s more like just a super common thing that happens once you stop taking birth control (especially if you've been on it for a while before). In my experience, it happens to me pretty much every single time.
I'm still a little fuzzy on that part about the cysts, though...😢

Unfortunately, I had the exact same experience; everything flared right back up about a week after I stopped taking them. You might want to try switching to Yasmin instead—they're much gentler, and I haven't dealt with any side effects from them. With Lady Diana, on the other hand, the hormones had me weeping over every little thing, though the acne control was significantly better. I suppose that was just the price I had to pay. While Yasmin isn't quite as effective, it’s still a step up from nothing at all!

To be more specific, these breakouts are located right where my upper and lower jaws meet—basically around the muscle area on both sides. Even though I’m only 16, these don't really feel like those typical teenage breakouts; they've actually been on my face for quite a while now, I think ever since I can remember 😁

They are very, very small bumps (if you can even call them pimples) that are accompanied by some mild redness. I was wondering if anyone might know what this could be? Also, would it actually help if I tried treating them with a standard over-the-counter acne cream meant for teenagers?
