Computer issues / Help needed

Hey there!
I’ve run into a bit of a situation here, and honestly, it feels like a pretty big deal to me right now.
So, I downloaded this Spyhunter4 tool to scan for viruses, and it did its thing—found everything it was supposed to find. It asked me to reboot my computer, so I did exactly what it said. But once the system started back up, things got weird. Some random characters flashed on the screen for about 30 seconds, then it did it again for another 30 seconds, and now I'm just staring at this blinking cursor on a black screen. I have absolutely no clue what happened or why it's doing this... I'm feeling a little lost on what the next step should be. Please, if anyone has dealt with something like this before or has any idea what might be going on, let me know. I could really use some help.

To’s actually the first I’ve heard of that issue—have you tried booting into Safe Mode to just wipe SpyHunter off the drive? Honestly, that program is likely the main culprit behind whatever is happening to your display right now. Since we have no idea which system files might have been accidentally nuked, it would be a huge help if you could snap a few photos with your phone and upload them here. It’s pretty hard for anyone to give you solid advice without seeing exactly what you're looking at, you know?

I can't even get into Safe Mode. As soon as I hit the power button, the letters start acting up immediately. I'm trying to get these pictures uploaded from my phone, but things aren't going too smoothly over here...

Next time you're looking to scrub some malware off your machine, I’d highly suggest grabbing Norton AntiVirus. I just ran a scan on my rig today and it flagged about twenty different issues. It only took me maybe five or ten minutes to finish, though I guess that depends on how fast your computer is.

I honestly can't wrap my head around why people even think installing this kind of junk software is a good idea 😵 😵 😵 . The only real solution is to hit F8 right when you boot up your computer and select last known good configuration, or maybe try jumping into safe mode to run a system restore. If none of that works, then you're probably looking at a full reinstallation of macOS

I wouldn't have even bothered installing it if that "websearches" junk hadn't hijacked my life. It kept popping up constantly in Firefox, driving me crazy, so I ended up hopping on YouTube to find a fix. That's actually how I stumbled upon a video for this specific program. It found a ton of viruses, asked for a restart, and once I did that—poof—it was finally gone...

But now, after clicking around all sorts of things, I'm staring at an "error loading operating system" message every time I boot up...

A clean reinstall of macOS will fix all your problems.

man, you totally nuked your macOS... maybe try popping in a bootable drive and see if you can run a system repair
