Constant scratchy throat?

So, here’s the deal... I went out to a concert in Austin last night and, well, let's just say I overdid it on the drinks, so my memory of the actual festivities is a little fuzzy. I woke up a bit early this morning and noticed something feels off in my throat. I took a look in the mirror and saw that little red strip right above my Adam's apple... you know, that specific area? It looks kind of long and angry red. Now, it's actually making it a bit awkward to breathe and talk properly. I was wondering if anyone knows what might be going on here. Is it just some kind of inflammation that'll eventually settle down on its own, or is it something more?

This has actually happened to my favorite guy a few times before
back when he was dealing with a nasty cold or maybe just a sore throat
it looked absolutely massive, honestly
and he was feeling pretty nauseous because his tongue was just hanging out like that
