CPU Upgrade Advice

Hey everyone, I'm looking to swap out my old processor for something a bit more powerful... so here's my question..
I have an ASUS H61M-K (Mini-ITX) motherboard; the box says it supports 3rd gen Intel Core processors.
Right now, I've got an Intel Core i3-2100 dual-core inside. I was wondering if I could find a used quad-core on eBay that would actually work in this setup?

I don't really know much about this stuff, so I'm not sure which specific model fits my socket.🙄

I assume I would also need to pick up a new CPU cooler along with this, right? Also, I am currently running an EVGA 600W power supply; would that be sufficient for this processor?

You should be getting a cooler included with the processor, and hopefully you won't have to deal with your current one, buddy. As for the power supply, it’s plenty—no need to change anything there.

Is there actually any difference if I run a processor without a dedicated graphics card versus using one, assuming I already own a GPU?

Everyone comes with integrated graphics except the 3350p. The 3000 series is a step up from the 2000s, but honestly, who cares? You won't get any real use out of those onboard chips if you're actually using a GPU. Just aim for at least an i5 on the 1155 socket. Post here once you find something specific. What the guy above posted is solid advice.

I found a shop online. They offer both a warranty and a return policy.

You can definitely find a better deal today. Honestly, you don't even need a warranty on a CPU since they rarely ever fail.

I'm looking to pick up some parts for an s775 build, but there isn't anything worth grabbing locally. It's not that I'm worried about them being faulty, I just don't want to end up with a total paperweight, especially when prices are hitting 100-$50 😬

Have you been browsing AliExpress lately to see if there's anything worth picking up on a budget?

I usually grab my s775 c2d e8400 from 8.1 miles or $17 Eurozone, and they actually provide a warranty...
