Crimson River 2

I'm not sure if I have the title right, but it's Crimson River 2 - Angels of the Apocalypse, by Les (2004), and honestly, this movie rocks!! Did anyone actually wrap their head around the ending, or am I alone here? If you've seen it, let me know what you thought..
Personally, I liked it better than the first one.. everything except the finale..

Whether it’s Crimson River or Crimson River 2, I haven't actually sat through the first installment, so the whole thing feels like a disjointed mess filled with jumping monks and German politicians running around in France. Honestly, I can't say I'm particularly impressed.

The thing is, the first movie only seems "great" if you watch it twice just to make sense of how terrible it actually is. The whole connection between the twins and that poor little girl being crushed by her mother is explained so poorly—not to mention the entire logic behind how they "breed" new generations of the master race. It's a mess.

I guess the first movie was okay for me, nothing to write home about really, though I usually absolutely love thrillers, but it also kind of drove me crazy how everything felt so surface-level and just poorly fleshed out, and honestly, I really hate it when a movie ends and I'm left sitting there with all these "how?" and "why?" questions that never actually got answered, plus the ending felt kind of weak to me.
I'll definitely be checking out the second one, assuming it's actually available somewhere, like on Netflix or in theaters or... whatever...???

I caught this on DivX, and it won't hit theaters in cities like Chicago for another three months. Everything is explained in the second act, but even then... you actually have to use your brain. It isn't spoon-fed so a six-year-old can follow along. It’s a damn good movie. I didn't fully grasp the full scope until my second viewing. Everything is laid out, just through puzzles. I can't stand movies that hand everything to you on a silver platter.😳

I’ll definitely make time for the sequel, though I find myself wondering if it’s actually available on DVD or even playing in theaters anywhere...

I have a copy on DVD, but it’s one of those bootleg versions you pick up at a flea market.

Is Reno in this one too? If so, then this movie is going to be incredible.

The first half was actually pretty decent, but the second part? Totally lost the plot. It’s all over the place. You're suddenly introduced to these random characters out of nowhere, and you have zero clue who they are or why they matter. Sure, some things eventually click by the end, but honestly, it felt forced and unconvincing.

I just finished watching the first part on HBO yesterday...
Does the second part also feature Cassel and Reno? And what’s the deal with those two twins? From what I gathered, the evil one dies in an avalanche while the good one survives.

It's true, though—the first part doesn't really explain why people are being killed or the connection between the twins, the nun, and that finger one has and the other doesn't. 😕

I liked it better than the first one. Everything was solid... except for that ending. It totally killed it for me.

I’m a bit confused by these recent posts... it feels like we might have some new spammers running around. I actually sat down and watched both films recently. To be honest, I enjoyed both installments. Each one had its own standout moments; the first focused on its killer, while the second centered on the brothers. The first features Vincent Cassel, whereas the second has Christopher Lee. I wasn't particularly a fan of that whole steroid subplot in the sequel, though.

I enjoyed the movie.
The plot was solid.
I especially liked Christopher Lee's performance.

The movie is absolute garbage.
And let me tell you, the first one was incredibly stupid, too.
The sequel is just pure, unadulterated nonsense.

It’s pathetic. The director clearly went on some massive drug trip and now he’s out here making movies about flying monks... what the hell is that even supposed to be?
