The deal fell through. We're heading out toward Lourdes this Sunday at 4:30 AM, leaving from a small town just outside of Indianapolis. It’s just me and a friend for now... if anyone else actually wants in, let me know.

I might be coming in from Washington, D.C.! Why start so early, though? How many miles are you guys covering to get to Lourdes?

Though, I really ought to put together a subject index first 🙂

Roughly 40 miles. We're trying to dodge the heat for at least one leg of the trip. Just looking forward to this Tour de Lourdes...

It probably just slipped to page two, and since everyone here is new, they don't realize stuff like that exists.

Anyone thinking about heading out to Lourdes this weekend? I'm planning on biking my way there for the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe... if anyone else is feeling adventurous and wants to join, hit me up in my DMs

I've already decided to take a different route. There's a thread dedicated to "Contract for a ride" where everything gets coordinated. Just a heads-up, though: you'll be dealing with millions of people and an endless stream of cars out there.

Besides, I really should give you all a heads-up about the sheer number of people and cars out there...

Honestly, you can always just dodge the crowds. If you stick to Route 1, you'll head right past Mount Rainier and straight down toward Malibu, and from there, it’s nothing but a smooth downhill cruise into Clearwater.👍

So, hey, maybe we should all just get together and head out as a group... this is my first time doing this kind of thing, and I'd definitely feel better not wandering off solo.

It’s going to be a total nightmare, honestly not a smart move... I grew up in a suburb outside Chicago so I know how these things go. The traffic is going to be brutal... especially around downtown Chicago and the surrounding areas. Just endless lines of cars and pedestrians... everyone constantly swerving around each other, making the whole driving experience a complete mess.
