Hi everyone!
They say two heads are better than one, so I figured I’d reach out and pick your brains on something...
My girlfriend suffered a disc herniation in her lower back about two weeks ago. I don't know the exact clinical diagnosis or the specific extent of the displacement, but an MRI confirmed there's definitely an issue with the disc. Over the last five days or so, things have actually started looking up. The pain is subsiding, she can walk for longer stretches, and the overall intensity has dialed back quite a bit. She’s currently doing physical therapy—lots of laser treatment, electrical stimulation, and specific exercises...
What I'm wondering is, if anyone here has some insight, how wise would it be for her to start getting back on a bike? Is cycling generally recommended during recovery from this kind of injury? 😕 I realize my question might be a bit vague, but I thought I'd ask... 🤷
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
