Hey everyone.
So, I’m a seventeen-year-old guy—turning eighteen shortly—and I've recently been diagnosed with dermatographism. It’s honestly quite irritating; if I even slightly scratch my arm, the skin turns bright red, leaves these distinct marks, and starts itching like crazy. 😳

Is there actually anything I can do to fix this, or at least find a way to make my skin a little less hypersensitive?

Hi there, it seems like we're a pretty small group when it comes to dealing with this condition🙂 but don't let it worry you too much; dermatographism often surfaces during puberty, which is right where we are now, since I'm 18 and dealt with these exact same symptoms about six months ago.

You can find a clear explanation and some treatment options on this Mayo Clinic page:

Best regards! 🙂

The full breakdown of what this is and how to manage it is laid out on this site:

Take care! 🙂

Thanks
