Hey there!
I'm 17. About a year ago, I was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). Early on in my treatment, I had these intense reactions—basically passing out—which the doctors labeled as seizure attacks. Once those stopped, I ended up in a coma for six days. Now, a year later, having beaten the leukemia, I had a milder seizure about a month ago that lasted roughly three minutes. They sent me straight for an EEG, and the results showed some minor brain damage from the chemo. Because I've been dealing with headaches, my doctor put me on Keppra. I'm wondering if anyone else here has gone through something similar? Also, what kind of side effects should I look out for with this medication? 🤷
I also wanted to ask those who have dealt with chemo: did you have to do physical therapy, and how long did it last? I've heard that chemo can mess with your nerves and weaken your muscles. Personally, I’m struggling with my arm and leg. Since waking up from the coma, everything else seems to have leveled out, but my arm hasn't fully recovered yet. What do you guys think? I can move it, but it feels a bit heavy or "off," and my hand is giving me trouble. I'm honestly worried it might stay this way. 😢
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance! 👍
