I’ve managed to pick up a sports injury—a nasty sprain—and I just grabbed some Deep Heat. Now, I know there's also Deep Relief out there, but I'm honestly stuck. Which one would actually be better for my situation, and what's the real difference between them? Can anyone help me out?

Deep Heat is meant for calming down inflammation and soreness after an injury. (It actually worked for me), though it’s pretty mild.

Deep Heat is more for warming up your muscles—standard stuff once you're recovering from an injury. You just rub a little on before training to get things moving.

Honestly, forget the Deep Heat for now; you're much better off using ice if the injury just happened. Or at least grab one of those instant cold packs from the drugstore.

Just a heads up, you definitely shouldn't use Deep Heat right after an acute injury occurs. You really need something that cools things down (ideally just plain ice)

Is it not true that Deep Heat is intended for muscle soreness after a workout, while the other version is meant for rheumatic pains?

I honestly can't even remember the exact name of this stuff or what it’s technically supposed to be doing, but man, this Deep Heat has been a total lifesaver... I’ve been dealing with this one muscle acting up for like six months straight, and it was getting to the point where I was actually terrified to even pick up a basketball. Every time I went to take a shot, I’d just freeze up because I was so scared my muscle was gonna snap or something. It was constant, just nagging pain all the time. But then I decided to actually follow those instructions for two days—just applying it three times a day with about four hours in between—and I’m not even kidding, the pain is just gone
