Hey everyone!
I’m running into a bit of a headache with the switchable graphics on my Dell Latitude. I'm currently using Windows 7 64-bit, and the issue kicks in right when the system tries to hand off tasks from the integrated Intel chip to the dedicated AMD card. Even though I’ve gone into the Catalyst Control Center and manually set specific programs to "high performance"—so they *should* be triggering the AMD hardware immediately—it just isn't happening. It gets a little messy when things get heavy, too. For instance, if I try to run something graphically intense, like a heavy render in SolidWorks, the whole laptop just shuts down on me. Other times, the application itself will crash and throw an error message saying the AMD driver hit a snag, which essentially forces the system to fail-safe back over to the Intel graphics. I've already double-checked Device Manager to make sure both drivers are fully up to date, but I'm still stuck. Does anyone have any bright ideas on how to troubleshoot this?
