I was scrolling through some sports feeds this morning and realized how much energy people pour into the very first day of camp. It’s wild to me how we collectively decide to get obsessed with every single drill and every minor interaction between players before a single real game has even been played.
I remember back in college, my buddies would spend entire afternoons debating whether a backup offensive lineman looked "faster" in pads, acting like it was a confirmed fact that we were headed to the championship. It’s fun, sure, but it feels like we're just looking for reasons to be optimistic or cynical based on nothing but vibes.
I love the preseason grind, but I can't help but wonder if the "Day 1" hype is mostly just noise designed to keep us engaged during the off-season. Do you guys actually find value in those early camp observations, or do you just treat it as preseason entertainment until the real schedule drops?
