I was watching some sports coverage earlier and it got me thinking about how much energy we pour into these massive, multi-day international competitions. There is always that specific window where everyone is glued to the screen, obsessing over the schedule and waiting for that one specific moment when a local hero might pull off something huge.
It’s funny how much it shifts the mood of a household or even a whole city. One day it’s total quiet, and the next, everyone is shouting at the TV and checking their phones every five minutes to see who's moving up in the rankings. I remember back in the day, we didn't have live updates every second, so the anticipation felt almost more tangible. Now, the constant stream of "what's coming up next" can feel a bit overwhelming if you aren't actually a die-hard fanatic.
I do love the spirit of it, but sometimes I wonder if we lose the appreciation for the actual skill when we're so caught up in the grind of the daily schedule and the "who's next" cycle. Do you guys find these big tournament seasons energizing, or do you find the constant buildup kind of exhausting?
