I was watching some clips late last night and it got me thinking about how much the vibe has shifted in professional sports lately. It used to feel like there was a certain level of respect between competitors, even when things got heated. Now, it feels like every single game is just an excuse for guys to take personal shots at each other on camera.

Don't get me wrong, a little bit of competitive edge is what makes it fun to watch. You want that grit. But there's a fine line between "I'm better than you" and just being a loudmouth to stir up drama for the highlight reels. It feels less like a battle of skill and more like a battle of who can get the most clicks on social media.

I remember watching games back in the day where the tension was palpable, but it stayed on the court. Now, it feels like players are constantly looking for a reason to jump into a verbal brawl just to keep their names in the news cycle. It’s starting to get a little exhausting to follow.

Is it just me, or is the constant back-and-forth between players becoming more about ego than the actual game?
