It feels like every single day there’s some kid doing something incredibly stupid or even slightly gross just to get a few thousand views on a livestream.
The weird part to me isn't even the act itself—it's the fallout. We’re living in an era where a five-second lapse in judgment for the sake of "clout" can result in legal consequences that follow you for the rest of your life. I know some people say "actions have consequences," and they're right, but it feels like the scale is getting totally unbalanced. One moment you're being a moron for likes, and the next, you're dealing with the legal system and heavy fines.
It makes me wonder if we're raising a generation that doesn't actually grasp the permanence of the internet or the law. How do you teach someone that a momentary impulse isn't worth a lifelong label?
