I was thinking about this the other day while watching old highlight reels. It’s funny how we tend to pin athletes—or even artists, really—to one singular, gravity-defying moment. You know the ones. That one play, that one song, or that one specific stunt that everyone talks about at parties.
It feels a little reductive, doesn't it? I’ve always felt that if you're a professional, you want the longevity and the consistent greatness to speak for itself. I'd hate to look back in twenty years and realize people only remember me for one lucky break or one insane feat of athleticism, rather than the grind and the years of work it took to get there. It’s like being a "one-hit wonder" but for a whole career.
Do you think it's actually a blessing to have that one iconic highlight, or is it a curse that keeps you from being respected for your overall skill?
