Hey everyone, a friend asked me to look into this, so I figured I’d check here for some advice... It's a pretty straightforward question—how do you actually get rid of a double chin? Honestly, she isn't overweight at all; if anything, she has an AMAZING ( 🙏 🙏 ) physique, but that stubborn double chin is driving her crazy... Any tips on how she can fix it?

Look, I’m no expert, but she’d probably benefit from some jaw exercises. She should try jutting her chin forward to really stretch out that double chin area. Also, keeping her head positioned so her chin stays away from her neck—kind of like how ballerinas hold themselves during a performance—would help hide it. Constant chewing motions with an extra wide mouth would also work. I’ve heard those specific moves prevent a double chin from forming, so they should definitely help get rid of one. 🙂

The "exercise" to get rid of a double chin is just alternating between saying X and O while straining your neck muscles like crazy. That was some beautician's advice, so maybe try 🙂
instead.

Honestly, you should just go see a maxillofacial surgeon. It’s really the best move.

Taylor Swift 😘 😘 I'll definitely give her that suggestion... but if anyone else has a better idea, let me know! 🙂

You aren't going to get rid of a double chin just by doing specific exercises—it only goes away once you lower your overall body fat percentage. It's pretty clear that for some people, genetics just dictates a higher concentration of fat cells right under the jawline.

If she cuts her body fat percentage any lower, she’s going to be skin and bones. She honestly has an incredible physique—she plays volleyball and hits the gym regularly... That's why she asked me to hunt around the internet for some advice for her.

I don't even know... my brother has a double chin, but let's be real, he's just straight-up huge 😁

I’m looking through these photos from CNN and every single shot of me looks absolutely wrecked because of my DAMN stepbrother!!! 😠 They actually suggested I get liposuction, and honestly, part of me wants to go through with it, but I’m terrified. Does it actually hurt? How long does the recovery look gross... stuff like that.

I don’t know much about liposuction—not my area—but they definitely do it under anesthesia, so there’s no pain involved.

But honestly, why even bother with surgery? You can actually use a double chin for some pretty useful things—like storing snacks for later. You could just tuck a handful of almonds in there and snack on them all day whenever you get bored.

Honestly, wouldn't you be better off just going to see a doctor first? 🙄

I find it hard to believe the recovery would be that agonizing since there's really no need for massive incisions... maybe they could just suction out the fat without even cutting you open.
A solid diet might actually do more good anyway. 🤷

Anyone have a ballpark idea of what a procedure like that actually costs?

I did some digging online and saw prices ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 😁. But that’s just general stuff for liposuction. I’m guessing a chin job would run me maybe $2,000 to $4,000. Who knows.

@restlesspanther1: Okay, look, I’ve got a little extra weight on me, but that has nothing to do with this tiny nuisance. Even when I’m skin and bones, it’s still there. Besides, I actually like my current weight, so if I were to suck the fat out of my chin, I’d want to make sure I keep this figure.

I read somewhere that it doesn't even hurt much; the only real downside is that they do it under local anesthesia. So, you basically just wear headphones and an eye mask 😁. I’m not quite crazy enough to sit there watching the whole thing 😲 or listening to it all 🙏. ljup:

If they're just using local anesthesia, at least you know it’s nothing major... fingers crossed for you.
I know Gabi Novak went under the knife to fix her double chin, but honestly, it wouldn't matter if she doesn't address her weight; it'll just come right back. Unless she actually drops some pounds, I don't think any of this is going to be permanent.🤷

Liposuction usually runs about $2333 🙂 and I’m actually thinking about pulling the trigger on it. I managed to drop 22 pounds, but honestly, my silhouette hasn't really changed much, which is just so frustrating

Does anyone happen to know the typical cost for groin liposuction?

... because I’m dealing with this exact same issue.
I’m about 5'6" and 128 lbs—I was always told I had a really striking face, sort of a classic Hollywood look😁—but before I went through pregnancy, I was down at 110 lbs. During my pregnancy, I ended up gaining about 55 pounds.😲 I’ve managed to lose most of the weight by now (though, let's be honest, my core isn't quite what it used to be😳), but I'm still stuck with this double chin that becomes super obvious the second I tilt my head down.

Does anyone know of a proven way to get rid of it? I'm really not looking to go under the knife, but I’m open to pretty much anything else.

Let me know what you think.😉

I have the exact same issue. My weight is perfectly fine, but that double chin is driving me crazy, and it seems to be getting more noticeable as I age (and I'm only 28; I dread to think what it will look like in ten years)... I actually stumbled upon an extensive article in a magazine today regarding various treatments, and they mentioned the double chin specifically. Essentially, they recommend a "combination of mesotherapy, chemical peels, and lipolysis, where injecting various chemical substances into the subcutaneous tissue triggers the breakdown and elimination of excess cells. This allows one to address localized fat, sagging skin, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation all in one treatment. For final results, a package of 3-4 sessions is required..."
At the bottom of the text, it lists the cost for lipolysis at $167, mesotherapy at $133, and chemical peels at $100.
Now, I just need to find out if anyone has actually tried this and found it successful...
I also came across a website for a medical clinic that approaches it differently—
http://www.mayoclinic.org/services/chin-treatments
That's all for now... if you happen to learn anything about it, please let me know! 🙂

I did a little digging online, and it turns out that the clinic I previously linked isn't getting any glowing reviews. In fact, there’s even an existing thread on this forum discussing them—specifically regarding Dr. Bill Gates at that facility. It seems prudent to do some more thorough research to find someone truly reputable for these kinds of procedures. So far, my search hasn't yielded much beyond the Miami center, which handles this sort of thing, though I'm certain there are numerous other medical clinics and cosmetic centers out there specializing in it. Ideally, I am looking for a clinic located in Los Angeles, so if anyone has a recommendation...

Now that I’ve hit my late thirties, I’ve noticed my double chin is looking more prominent than ever before. While I’m pretty sure it’s just part of my genetic makeup—something I’ve dealt with almost my entire life—I can't help but wonder if microdermabrasion actually does anything for it. If that isn't the right path, what else is out there? Fortunately, my BMI is staying within a healthy range, though I honestly don't know where I'd be without 🤣. I would truly appreciate any advice or suggestions you all might have...
