Double posting within 15 seconds

So, I’ve been noticing this weird glitch over the last month or so. Every time I hit that save button on my posts, I get this annoying pop-up telling me the message is already saved and to just wait about 15 seconds before trying again (though the whole window actually lasts like 30 seconds). The kicker? It’s actually working fine! My posts are getting saved perfectly—you can see them if you just browse the boards or even log out and back in. It's like the site is gaslighting me!

I honestly can't even deal with some people right now. Seriously. I was just sitting here thinking about how much certain folks love to hear themselves talk, and then I saw what Joseph Allen7 was saying. Like, excuse me? Are we even living in the same reality? It’s wild how some people just dive headfirst into a topic without a single clue. It’s like watching someone try to drive a stick shift in downtown Chicago without ever having opened a manual. Just total chaos! And don't even get me started on the whole "expert" vibe some of these guys try to pull off. We see you. We all see you. Anyway, I was reading through some stuff earlier—kind of a deep dive into some heavy politics—and it just reminded me how much noise there is out there. Everyone has an opinion, but nobody wants to do the actual legwork. It's exhausting. But hey, that's just my two cents. Maybe I'm just being cynical today. Probably. But seriously, some of these takes are just straight-up unhinged. Grab your popcorn, folks, because this thread is getting spicy.

So, get this—I tried to delete just one of those two copies, right? And wouldn't you know it, the whole original just vanished into thin air! Total disaster.

Look, I’m not saying I’m "trigger-happy" here—I definitely don't just spam the same post over and over again. But I gotta say, this has been happening for like a month straight now. I've noticed it, and it's ALWAYS happening within 15 seconds when I'm supposed to have a full 30.

That’s just your classic Man in the Middle right there.

P.S. It took like 10 seconds just to save this post, and no, it didn't even prompt me to re-type anything!
PPS: Seriously, that PS lasted for like, less than a second.

Just to be clear, I’m not "trigger happy." I am definitely not hitting submit multiple times on purpose. This has been happening consistently for about a month now, and it ALWAYS triggers that 15-second lockout.

Classic Man in the Middle situation.

PS: Saving this specific post took about 10 seconds, and no, it didn't prompt me to re-type anything.
PPS: That PS took literally less than a second to write.

I think you've already realized the site has been a total mess lately.
You can actually bypass those duplicate posts by using the "preview post" option. It works for me, so hopefully it does for you too. 🙂

The thing is, the site keeps flagging me, saying I can't send another message within 15 seconds because I already sent one. And honestly? When I check, the message is already there. But I swear I didn't even hit send!

It's already happening over on "politics," but here in "The Book of Complaints," it hasn't started yet. Though, those guys over in politics probably already know what people are gonna type before they even finish. 😢

Think of using this forum like talking to a moody woman who’s constantly testing your patience, but you care about her too much to lose your cool, so you just take the path of least resistance to keep the peace at home. 🤣
The old-school forum regulars are probably all checked out or burnt out, the previous sysadmin crew basically committed collective seppuku, and the current batch...
I have no clue who they are or where they came from, but they have my deepest sympathies.

Hogare, look, I'm a tech guy, so I can wrap my head around your poetic little observations to an extent, though that whole "suicide" bit feels like a cheap excuse for people who are just obsessed with those crazy floating interest rates back in the day.

And honestly, I still think every single thread on Politics is basically just a duplicate anyway.
