Dual-channel memory setup

thinking about picking up another matching 8GB stick, but I’ve got zero clue if dual-channel will actually kick in or if it's even worth the hassle. it's only like $45...

It'll definitely work—just pop it into the slot that matches the color of your current one and you're good to go.
Whether you actually need it depends on what you do with your PC, but since 16GB is starting to become the sweet spot for most things, it’s definitely not a waste. RAM isn't exactly expensive right now either, so feel free to just grab the same stick and plug it in. 🍿>

Thanks for the input and the tip on the cheaper option; I'll definitely grab it while I'm in the States. Might as well take advantage of having someone to bring it back for me...

In the US, it’s all just one big $117 so they just go by that
