I’ve got this constant ringing in my ear. It isn't exactly painful, just... irritating. If I head down to the clinic right now, they’ll just run me through the whole routine—sending me to see an ENT specialist to check my ears, throat, and nose. Honestly, I really don't have the patience to sit in a waiting room just to be handed some prescription drops and told to deal with it. Plus, I'd actually have to ask my boss for time off to go...

So, I was wondering if anyone here knows of any effective ear drops that I could just pick up at a local CVS or Walgreens without a formal consultation?🙄

Dexamethasone drops, but you really ought to see a doctor regardless.

I actually went in this past summer because my ear felt plugged up. I saw some practitioner during my internship who tried flushing my ear out twice; I told her it felt fine and that my hearing was back to normal, but she insisted on continuing since nothing had come out. She kept at it seven or eight times, and ever since then, my ear has been acting up. My hearing isn't quite right and there's this constant ringing, but I can't exactly just walk out of work... so I suppose I'll give those drops you mentioned a shot...👋

Stop putting drops in your ear!!!

It sounds like you’ve got water trapped in there, which is why it's buzzing. 😁 If that's the case, adding any more moisture is just going to make things worse.

Go see a doctor. If that's what's actually happening, there isn't much you can do besides waiting it out or hitting the sauna...

But at least you won't make the situation worse.

🙂

Thanks, everyone. I already had a feeling this was the case, but I'm still heading in to see my doctor tomorrow 😉

Maybe you fell into the same trap I did: obsessively using Q-tips. I’d dig deeper and deeper, thinking I was helping, but it just made everything worse. I couldn't wrap my head around why. 🤔
Ever since I listened to my doctor and stopped, my ears have finally cleared up! 😁
I still get a bit of irritation from drafts now and then, so I just use some Garrison drops—they work wonders for both eyes and ears.

I just got back from the doctor, and apparently, it’s all stemming from my wisdom tooth. There's some serious inflammation spreading toward my ear, which explains why everything feels so off right now...

Sorry for the late reply 🙄
