I’ve noticed that right after I eat—mostly after lunch—my lower abdomen just bloats up and feels rock hard.

I actually went to see my doctor about it, and his take was that this is becoming a widespread issue linked to poor eating habits—basically a dietary disorder.

He says it's incredibly common these days. Everyone is rushing through meals because "there's no time," or we're talking while we eat, which means we end up swallowing air and half-chewed food.

So, all that extra air and the gas produced by poorly chewed food just settles straight into the stomach.

Does anyone else deal with this? Does your lower stomach just swell up and get tight immediately after lunch?

Beyond what the doctor already mentioned—that rushing through a large meal is a bad move—you really ought to avoid drinking anything about thirty minutes before you eat and an hour after you're finished. If you flood your system with liquids right then, you end up diluting those essential digestive enzymes, which makes the whole process much harder on your gut.
It’s highly likely that your liquid intake is exactly what's triggering these issues for you.

Furthermore, you have to be smart about how you layer your food to make digestion smoother. My own rule of thumb is to tackle the easy stuff first—think fruits or veggies—and save the heavier proteins, especially red meat which takes forever to break down, for last.

Nah... mostly I just eat like I’ve got a permanent layer of lint stuck in my throat—that's what my preschool teacher used to tell me back in the day (so yeah, I've always been this way 😁) and honestly, it drives everyone around me absolutely nuts. 🙂
