Hey ladies, moms, grandmas... sorry if this topic has popped up before, but I don't really have the bandwidth to go digging through old threads right now. Assuming it’s been asked.
I'm looking for some advice, even though deep down I probably already know how I should handle this. But maybe someone else has dealt with something similar and can offer a little perspective.
So, I don't usually use tampons—only during the summer, and even then, only when absolutely necessary. Yesterday, I used the smallest size available, even though my period was winding down. I had a few too many drinks after getting home and crashed immediately. When I woke up this morning, the tampon was gone, but there was a small amount of blood on my underwear.
Now, logically, I know the best move is to call my OB-GYN, but please... if anyone has been through something like this, maybe there's another way to look at it. Is it possible that since it was just a light flow toward the end of my cycle, the tampon just slipped out? It wouldn't have been soaked, so maybe it just slid out on its own. The only time I think it could have moved was on the way home when I asked my boyfriend to pull over because I desperately needed to pee, but I honestly don't remember much of that since I was pretty drunk.
To be honest, the idea of going to the doctor for something like this feels incredibly awkward... so...
