Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can point me in the right direction—I really need some advice...
I'm looking for recommendations for my father. Back in December, he was in a serious car accident that left him with severe injuries to his left shoulder, scapula, and hand. He also had seven broken ribs, though those are finally starting to knit back together. The real issue is the left shoulder and hand. To be honest, our experience at the Mayo Clinic in Cleveland, where he was first taken after the crash, wasn't great. The doctor-patient relationship felt off, and we weren't satisfied with the care provided. We still don't even have a clear understanding of what exactly happened during his four hours under anesthesia; they were supposed to perform surgery, but he came out without any incisions—it seems like they just performed some kind of bone setting without actually opening up his back.
To cut to the chase, I wanted to ask if anyone knows a highly skilled surgeon near Drašković Avenue whom we could see for a consultation. People have suggested we head that way because apparently, all the top specialists are concentrated there, but from what I've seen, it matters immensely which specific doctor you end up with. Since we aren't originally from Washington, D.C.—we just moved here recently—we don't have any local connections to guide us toward a specific name...
I also wanted to ask if anyone has firsthand experience with the private clinic Acromion. My concern is that since they are a private facility, they might push for surgery immediately just for the profit, and I'm struggling to decide whether we should trust their judgment or if it's purely a business move. I'm feeling pretty lost on this one...
Thanks in advance for any help you can give!
Best,
