Where's the best place to get a full eye exam without having to book weeks in advance? I need to get in ASAP, it's urgent...

Hm, does this count as an ad? 😕
Anyway, I hope I’m not breaking any rules here—though this topic practically begs for an answer—but I wanted to mention Mayo Clinic. They are incredibly professional and polite; if you have questions, you’ll get straight answers from two doctors, sometimes even three, all at once. Even when they're slammed, you can usually walk in and be seen the very same day.

Uh oh
The moderator is probably going to give you a hard time 😈
Let's try to keep these debates in the right section!
Personally, I think it's just helpful info—an actual ad would be way more aggressive than this

With something like Lysol, you usually have to order it ahead of time, but you don't have to wait nearly as long
To me, it feels totally normal for doctors (and even some other pros) to place orders like that

You haven't given us enough details, so I'm not quite sure what "urgent" means in your specific situation.

If you're experiencing actual pain, redness, inflammation, or a sudden loss of vision—that's a medical emergency. In that case, you should head straight to the ER at a local hospital like Mayo Clinic or whatever major medical center is nearby. They have urgent care available, and if they deem it a true emergency, they'll fast-track you through the necessary tests immediately.
Otherwise, if it's just a routine checkup that you need quickly, there are plenty of private practices and optometrists located within big-box retailers (like LensCrafters, Warby Parker, or even some upscale malls). You can give them a call; usually, you can snag an appointment within a day or two if you emphasize that it's urgent. You'll just have to pay somewhere around 100-$67 and you're all set.
