Facebook password help

Hey there. So, here’s my situation: I recently updated my Meta password and somehow managed to forget it. I usually access Meta on both my tablet and my iPhone, but I got logged out of the tablet during the change. To make things trickier, the email address linked to my account isn't active anymore, so I can't receive any reset links. The only saving grace is that I'm still logged in on my iPhone, so I haven't lost access entirely. Is there any way I could use my iPhone to recover the password or find another workaround? Since that old email is a dead end, I can't get a reset code sent to me. Thanks in advance!

Try changing it on your iPhone. I can pull it off on my laptop without even knowing the damn thing... maybe you can too 🤷

I think you might be able to link the phone to your profile via iPhone, then just hit "Forgot Password?" on the tablet. From there, you should be able to pick whether they send the reset to your email or your phone... I mean, I guess that's how it works, maybe it's possible.

This is basically what you’re looking at when you pull up the desktop version of Meta on a tablet and hit "Forgot password?". You just type in a phone number, your name, or whatever else—whatever works—and once they locate the account, you get to pick how they send you the reset info. If you're trying to go the text message route, I guess you have to actually have a verified number linked to your profile first.

I haven't actually entered my cell number yet, and if I try to do it now, it just asks me for a password, so that's not going to work either.
