Fact or Fiction?

We stop and reflect. I am an individual who relies on my own eyes and trusts my own gut. To me, there exists a world that I inhabit—a reality defined by my own existence. Everyone else around me lives within this framework; they are part of the world I perceive. My perception defines them and breathes life into their presence.
However, for that other person, there is also... a distinct universe governed by their own rules, senses, and vision. Our realities intersect just enough for me to perceive them within my own sphere.
If I were to vanish, everything within my world would cease to exist along with me. In their world, however, only I disappear. This leads to the conclusion that everything which exists does so solely within the mind of the observer. If a person doesn't experience something, then for them, it simply isn't real. This implies that truth is as varied as our individual worlds—and just as many lies exist. For every person, there is only one absolute truth, much like there is only one ultimate lie. Ultimately, we are all our own private universe, interconnected with others yet entirely independent—operating under our own unique laws of physics and mathematics.

I can't get behind the idea that there’s just one single truth and one single lie for every person. It really all comes down to context—how different people view their own roles from their own unique perspectives. To me, every "truth" or "lie" is basically just proportional to what someone stands to gain, whether that's money, moral standing, or just emotional peace. Since our interests shift as we go through life, those truths and lies shift right along with them.

And let's be real, everyone involved in a situation has a different set of stakes. Every person is their own little universe, sure, but we're constantly being shaped by the other universes we collide with every day while socializing and living our lives. 😉
