Faucet's flipped! Help!!

Guys, I need some help here.
I was over at a buddy's place recently and went to turn on the kitchen faucet to grab some water, only to be completely blindsided: THE FAUCET TURNS THE WRONG WAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, instead of turning it the way we were all taught to open the water, you have to twist it the opposite direction. If you rotated the entire fixture 180 degrees, would the flow direction flip back to normal? Or is this just some niche designer model from overseas where people apparently prefer twisting things backward to get a drink? It’s a standard T-shaped faucet mounted to the sink. I mean, why didn't you just ask him where he even gets his supplies? 😲 Who knows, right? We don't even know what the guy looks like.

Or maybe your buddy's just a lefty and you adjusted your whole setup to match. 😁

Nope. That's a left-hand thread on the valve. You're gonna have to swap out the whole faucet.

It’s kind of a weird quirk if you think about it. Standard threading is always righty-tighty, left-handed. You only really run into those left-hand threads when you're dealing with stuff that could blow a hole in your workshop—think high-pressure hydrogen or chlorine tanks.

I honestly thought the faucet was installed upside down and just spraying water into thin air, which would have been quite the spectacle—a real masterpiece of plumbing, I suppose. But then again, looking at these threads, they’re just completely useless. I mean, what does it even matter which way you turn them?😛
