Has anyone ever dealt with this bizarre wave of nausea? It’s like this dull ache right in my stomach, paired with these weird little prickles traveling through my throat and esophagus. There’s even this sensation where I feel like my teeth are about to start chattering—and sometimes they actually do—along with this dizzying feeling that never quite turns into actual vertigo. It’s incredibly difficult to put into words, just deeply, profoundly uncomfortable. Honestly, it feels most similar to that sickly sensation you get when you overdo it on cigarettes and wash it all down with way too much strong black coffee.
I remember experiencing this once before a checkup, and it turned out I was severely anemic; my iron levels were sitting at a measly 2. For months afterward—actually, for a full year—that exact same feeling kept coming back.
My hunch is that it flares up whenever my iron drops, though I can't say for certain. My hematologist insisted there shouldn't be any connection, and he even went so far as to claim that diet has almost zero impact on blood iron levels—suggesting that if your levels are at a 5, you don't even need supplements. That pretty much contradicts everything every other doctor I've seen has told me, so I don't exactly take his word as gospel.
Has anyone else gone through something similar with this kind of nausea?

Are you kidding me?
That's exactly how my body handles stress. Seriously, I've been feeling absolutely miserable for three weeks straight 😢

The issue is that this isn't just standard nausea; I’m getting these strange tingling sensations in my throat and a feeling like I might just pass out. I’ve never actually fainted in my life, but I suppose this is what it feels like right before you go down.

Could it be acid reflux instead? It really looks like that to me.

I’ve been dealing with this constant nausea for a week straight now, and honestly, I have zero clue what's causing it... I can barely even eat. I force myself down some food just because I have to, but I haven't actually thrown up... maybe I felt like puking twice in the last seven days, but it never happened... still, this nauseous feeling just won't quit on me
Today I hit up a pharmacy and picked up some ginger supplement capsules specifically for nausea, and I gotta say, they're actually helping... Plus, whenever the waves get a bit stronger, I just take some ginger powder and take a deep whiff of it, which seems to settle things down

As for whether this has anything to do with my iron levels, who knows? If this keeps up, I'll probably just have to head to the clinic to get some blood work done and see what's actually going on...

The reflux feels somewhat familiar, though I don’t have that sensation of a lump in my throat or any actual trouble swallowing; still, those sharp stabs in my throat and stomach definitely ring a bell.
At least there's some comfort in knowing that when I was dealing with severe anemia, I went through this exact same thing, and it took nearly a year to finally clear up.

I’ve been on iron supplements for about 10 to 15 days now, so I'm questioning whether getting blood work done right now is even worth it. My levels will likely come back artificially high because of the supplements, but if I stop taking them for ten days, how long would it actually take to see my true baseline? I'm just worried that if I pause the treatment, the nausea might intensify.

And honestly, it is just incredibly unpleasant.

If only Dr. House were on call here.🙂

Anyone else experienced similar nausea?

Nausea messes with me too. I haven't gone to a doctor yet, but I get hit with this sensation that almost makes me shake. Maybe it's just having two coffees a day—one in the morning and one in the afternoon.🤷And today, while I was bending over to organize stuff in the basement, I got all lightheaded and foggy. Could be anything, maybe blood pressure.😕Every time I've been to my GP to have it checked, my pressure is perfectly fine just to spite me. You can never get a straight answer from them.😢
