Does anyone happen to know if CNN is going to be airing any of the matches? From what I've gathered, they'll probably be showing them over on ESPN

ESPN says they’re going to be airing it on both ESPN and ESPN2... but how exactly do you get access to ESPN2? Is that something you need a specific digital cable package for, or is it just free-to-air? 😕

I suppose I have both of them on my digital display. 😉

Personally, I’m rooting for Ivory Coast, though I have a feeling Cameroon might be especially hungry for a win after missing out on the World Cup.

Ivory Coast 😬 because of Raymond Hughes. Honestly, I don't really care much either way. I suppose I have a soft spot for Cameroon, though maybe more for their kits than any specific player... 😁

I just caught the first two matches, Egypt-Libya and Ivory Coast-Morocco... There is one thing I absolutely have to mention: the officiating! Seriously, how can there be that many mistakes in just two games? I follow the Southern Division of MLS, and honestly, the refs there are better than they are at this Gold Cup! I’m not even exaggerating.

Man, the drama and the schemes surrounding these teams are just unreal... seriously. Like, I heard that just thirty minutes before the match against Togo, the president of Congo actually called them to beg them to stop stalling over their bonuses and just get out there and play. 🤣

My little underdog pick might actually be Guinea. They managed to pull off wins in their first two matches, and honestly, it looks like they actually know how to play ball. The only real issue is that everyone on the roster seems to go by the name Kamara😲. If we’re being realistic about the quality of play and the recent results, I suppose Cameroon is far and away the strongest side, provided nothing bizarre happens to derail them—like a key player suddenly collapsing mid-match😢 or someone missing yet another penalty in the 98th minute👎. What Eto'o, Wome, Geremi, and the rest of the squad bring to the table is something I suspect many European National Teams might struggle to match. It’s quite a shame they didn't make the cut for the World Cup 2006. As for who might take second place, there are a few contenders, most notably Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. Generally speaking, the football is quite high-level; if you were to assemble an all-star African team, I suspect even the best of Europe wouldn't stand much of a chance against them.
