Hey everyone,
Got four machines running in my office and my scanner decided to go haywire on me. I couldn't fix it for the life of me, so I tried a workaround:

The old setup was simple—everything we scanned went straight to a shared folder on one specific PC, and everyone could grab it without a hitch.
Now, I’ve moved the scanner over to a different machine. Scanning works fine, but once I set up the shared folder, it’s like it doesn't even exist to anyone else.
I've double-checked all the settings a dozen times, but I'm totally stumped.
I can see the other workstations on the network, but nobody can see mine.
To make matters worse, when I try to access their folders, it keeps nagging me for a username and password, even though they can get into mine just fine.

Honestly, everything feels like a total mess right now and I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated... thanks in advance. 🙂

is everyone running macOS, and which versions are out there?
when you check the computer properties, is the workgroup name supposed to be identical on every machine?
also, if you're looking at a shared folder, what kind of permissions show up when you're checking through Finder

Looks like a permissions issue...

Check who actually has access to that folder—see which user is listed—and double-check the SMB settings too.

If they're on a different Workgroup, just toss them into the same one...

Hard to say for sure without knowing the domain setup, the OS, firewalls, permissions, whatever else is going on...

Why not just dig into the settings on that old machine and check the firewall or something?

When you check computer properties, is the Workgroup the same across the board?
And when looking at shared folders, what's listed under permissions (via Finder)

That Workgroup stuff is driving me nuts—I can't even figure out where to look.

I set the permissions to EVERYONE and checked all the boxes (read/write)

I'll drop some screenshots of everything now.

Everyone's on macOS 10.

The workgroup is set to WORKGROUP on all of them.

I've got 4 computers running at the office and my scanner setup just went completely sideways on me—tried everything to fix it and failed—so I tried this workaround:

Everything we scan used to save automatically to one specific PC in a shared folder that everyone could see without a hitch.
Now, I've moved the scanner installation over to a different machine; scanning works fine again, but when I try to share the folder, nobody can find it.
I've double-checked all the settings a million times, but I am totally lost on where it's breaking.
I can see the other PCs on the network, but nobody can see mine.
To make matters worse, I can't even get into the other computers—it keeps demanding a username and password—even though everyone else can access mine just fine.

I think I've completely messed everything up and I'm honestly at my wits' end here... any help would be huge, thanks in advance!🙂

Tried everything and my computer still isn't showing up. I'm following all the steps... but man, this thing used to work just fine before.

Every single time there’s a Windows 10 update, the damn thing resets my network sharing settings: Settings-Network-Ethernet-(change advanced sharing options... man, I hate dealing with these menus!). I have to go back in and manually turn on network discovery every time, otherwise, I can't even see other PCs on my network... and sometimes even that doesn't work right away, so I end up just rebooting the whole machine to speed things up.
It happened again today. As soon as I realized the other devices were missing, I went straight to those settings... they really nailed it, didn't they? Constant updates, and then the settings just start acting crazy...
