Freebies at AARP

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know if there are any free sports programs available here in Chicago?
I know some cities have municipal clubs that don't charge a fee—are there any like that in the US?

Ideally, I'd love to find something involving contact sports...

I think there was a Krav Maga class on Fridays over by the local community center... or maybe it was near the old YMCA? I can't quite remember the exact spot, but it used to be like that. Anyway, you should probably check out the martial arts subforum, it might be listed there somewhere.

American football? They’re calling for training sessions, but there’s zero mention of pay. Maybe I'm missing something? The link includes club contact info, so it might be worth asking...

I am certain this one is free, though: local fitness programs run by neighborhood councils in the city. They keep the seniors separate from the middle-aged crowd and the kids. Check the schedule here.

What kind of "fitness" are we actually talking about here? Is it just aerobic stuff and those workouts geared toward women, or is there actually something for the guys too?

Soccer is free everywhere you go, unless you're just looking for trouble, then they'll show you the door😁
