Could someone please walk me through what they know about this so-called Galleon syndrome?
I’ve never even heard the term before, and honestly, I’ve been digging around online but I can't find anything that actually gives me a straight answer.
The diagnosis apparently calls for immediate hospitalization, but according to the doctors who identified it, there is currently only one clinic on the planet equipped to handle it—the Mayo Clinic over in Jacksonville.
We're talking about an eight-year-old kid who originally went in because of a sore throat. They were given some lincomycin, and then everything just spiraled into this series of really bizarre, unexpected reactions.
Does anyone know if this sounds more like a bad drug reaction or if we might be looking at some kind of autoimmune issue?
Thanks so much
