Before I dive in, let me just say up front if this topic was
this is actually my very first post on this forum, so please go easy on me if I’ve managed to mess anything up here.😉

I’ve run into a bit of a dilemma. I recently started seeing someone (after an incredibly, incredibly long hiatus—seriously, a lifetime) and his birthday is coming up fast, but I am completely stumped on what to get him. I really want to give him something meaningful, but my brain is just a total blank.
The catch is that he’s one of those people who already has pretty much everything, which makes this whole thing ten times harder than it needs to be.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help.🙂

So now you're going to tell us what's what, when we're already more lost than you are? ☕

So, I was thinking about throwing out some ideas here
I don't really know him that well, but I'd love to get him a little something—just a small gesture, you know?
If I can figure out what might work, I'll definitely be looking for some advice

And look, if your intention is just to be arrogant and lecture everyone, there’s no need to jump into this conversation with those typical Scott Stewart6 remarks of yours

If I did, I'd ask for help.

And if you're planning on being arrogant and acting like a know-it-all, there's no point in even bringing your typical Scott Stewart6 attitude here.

It’s not arrogance. I’m genuinely asking what you expect to get out of this thread.

Maybe you'll get a few suggestions, but you'll probably ignore most of them anyway. You'll either end up buying whatever you wanted in the first place, or you'll just pick something someone else suggested.

Then you give him the gift, he loves it, and says "Thanks!" while you're sitting there thinking, "Why am I thanking you? I didn't even come up with this."

Great. Just great.😉 🤷

Well, if YOU say so (and you probably know more than I do), then there’s really no point in asking for help anymore. We can just go ahead and lock this thread right now.

😉

I’ve got a bit of a situation. I finally have a boyfriend again—and when I say "finally," I mean after a seriously, seriously, *seriously* long time—and his birthday is coming up soon. The problem? I have absolutely zero clue what to get him. I really want to give him something special, but my brain is just totally blank.
He's one of those guys who already has basically everything, which makes this whole thing ten times harder.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!
And thanks in advance, everyone.🙂

A good cologne... you can never go wrong with that.😉

Just stating my piece.

You know him better than anyone else posting here.😉

And he’s dear to you, too.

So, do something about it.🤷

What I was trying to get at before—and this is honestly what’s making this whole thing such a headache—is that he seems to already have just about everything. I really don't want to go out and spend money on something he’s already sitting on back home.
I mean, look, I don't know him well enough to be playing personal shopper, especially since I haven't a clue what his actual taste is. From what I can gather, he’s pretty much set for life; nothing seems to be missing from his collection.🙏

Laura Doyle9, a cologne could work, but there's a massive risk of picking a scent he absolutely hates. Though, if I play it smart and sneak a peek in his bathroom to see what he’s currently using... I might actually pull it off without looking foolish.😁

And you’re acting like you know him better than anyone else on this entire board... as if you've got some inside track that we don't... seriously... 😉

And yeah, just like you're so damn precious, aren't you...

Then put some actual damn effort into it... 🤷

I’m with you on this one, hands down... she really needs to sit him down and get a better handle on who he actually is and what he’s looking for from her. Honestly? I feel like I’m in the same boat. Every single Christmas, or birthday, or whatever holiday rolls around, I struggle with what to get my guy. He’s already got just about everything a person could want, so it’s tough... I usually end up grabbing something I know he’s been eyeing—something he’d never dream of buying for himself—but that’s really the secret to it. It’s a solid idea, seriously... 😉

We don't know each other well enough yet for you to be calling the shots on what he likes
I'm hoping I can actually get to know him better first; if that happens, this whole issue will probably just resolve itself without all this drama

So just figure out what he's actually into—his hobbies, his interests, whatever... then use your head. ☕

You’re 100% going to find something useful here:

Otherwise, just grab him a watch, a good book, a Zippo, or some cool clothes—for him, or even for you, who knows 😉
Maybe he's into extreme sports, so get him gear for that, or just general athletic stuff. Or maybe something for his car, a skydiving or scuba diving course, a lava lamp, a keychain, a travel pillow, cologne, a carnivorous plant, a framed photo of you two, a weekend getaway to a different city, a schoolgirl outfit (hey, don't judge), a wallet, a belt, or socks—because you can honestly never have too many pairs of socks. Or a jersey from his favorite team, a band tee, or some tech gear like a mouse, speakers, a USB drive, or a webcam (he probably owns all that, but something might have finally died on him lately)....
If you want to go really wild, you can actually buy him a star or a piece of the moon right here: http://www.moonestates.com/basket.php (that's probably what I'm doing for my guy)
Honestly, I have no clue what to get him 😢
Man, shopping for women is so much easier.

I ended up getting my partner a cactus—well, more like gifting it since it sprouted from one of mine and was just overjoyed to exist 😁
The little thing is barely two centimeters tall, though. So cute 🤣
